JULY 13 COLLABORATION "IN MOTION" SETS BODYVOX DANCERS, ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY, TO LIVE CHAMBER MUSIC
PORTLAND, OR — Chamber Music Northwest, one of America's top chamber music festivals, and BodyVox Dance co-present "In Motion," Wednesday, July 13 at 7 pm, combining innovative choreography and dance with live accompaniment by Chamber Music Northwest Protégé Project artists. The event marks the first collaboration between the two organizations, and takes place at the BodyVox Dance Center (1201 NW 17th Ave.).

CHAMBER MUSIC NORTHWEST ANNOUNCES 41st ANNUAL SUMMER FESTIVAL: JUNE 20 - JULY 24, 2011
PORTLAND, OR — Chamber Music Northwest, one of America's leading presenters of chamber music, and artistic director David Shifrin, are pleased to announce the 41st Annual Summer Festival, taking place June 20 - July 24, 2011, on the campus of Reed College, plus Catlin Gabel School and the beautifully renovated Lincoln Recital Hall. The five-week festival presents a rich variety of chamber music from beloved classics to world premieres in 30 concerts that feature 48 of the world's top chamber music performers plus 13 Protégé artists, personally selected by David Shifrin, "so that we may ensure opportunities for these young rising stars to flourish and shine."

NYC JAZZ, KLEZMER LUMINARIES JOIN APOLLO TRIO FOR CMNW'S "MUSIC ON JEWISH THEMES," FEBRUARY 5
Portland, OR — Chamber Music Northwest continues its 2010-11 Encore Series Saturday, February 5, with Music on Jewish Themes, combining the renowned Apollo Trio—Curtis Macomber, violin; Michael Kannen, cello; Marija Stroke, piano—with some of the world's most innovative jazz and klezmer all-stars: clarinetist David Krakauer, bass trombonist Dave Taylor, and drummer Michael Sarin. The 7:30 pm concert at Reed College's Kaul Auditorium marks the world premiere of "Borscht Belt Follies" (the latest from Portland's own award-winning composer, David Schiff) on which all six artists perform. The concert also includes music by Bloch and Shostakovich, along with several klezmer arrangements.

SUPERB BRITISH CELLIST COLIN CARR RETURNS TO CMNW STAGE FOR EVENING OF BEETHOVEN
Portland, OR — Chamber Music Northwest, the Northwest's leading chamber music presenting organization, continues its 2010-2011 Encore Series of fall-winter-spring concerts Saturday, December 11, with a spotlight on Beethoven's works for cello and piano as performed by cellist Colin Carr and pianist Thomas Sauer. The British cellist, a renowned soloist, chamber musician and recording artist, also is a professor at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music. The concert for CMNW takes place at 7:30 pm, at St. Mary's Academy (SW 5th & Market, in the Clark Family Auditorium).

Portland, OR — Chamber Music Northwest, the Northwest's leading chamber music presenting organization, opens its 2010-2011 Encore Series of four fall-winter-spring concerts on October 21, with a spotlight on French music. CMNW's longtime artistic director/clarinetist David Shifrin is joined by two other CMNW veterans, violinist Ani Kavafian and pianist André-Michel Schub, in the 7:30 pm concert at First Congregational Church (1126 SW Park).
