George Meyer, violin


Violinist George Meyer, 19, currently studies violin with Lucy Chapman. He has performed his own compositions at the Telluride and RockyGrass Bluegrass Festivals and at the Savannah Music Festival, where he was a participant in the 2012 Acoustic Music Seminar. Other performance appearances include the Rome Chamber Music Festival and the Aspen Music Festival. He has appeared with his father Edgar Meyer, and with Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and Mike Marshall. His violin teachers have included Carolyn Huebl, Naoko Tanaka, and Carol Smith. In the fall, he will be a sophomore at Harvard, where he studies English and music.
