Friday, January 24 – REPEAT
Reed College, Performing Arts Building Recital Room, 7:30 pm

Phenomenal young pianist Yekwon Sunwoo (2013 Protege Project) returns to CMNW in a series of colorful miniatures for solo piano by Tchaikovsky, and Beethoven's "Spring" Sonata with Ida Kavafian. Oregon Symphony's principal winds perform Samuel Barber's exquisite Summer Music.

The Seasons, Part II

Saturday, January 25
Reed College, Kaul Auditorium, 7:30 pm

Two defining works—one of Schubert's most dramatic song cycles with baritone Randall Scarlata, followed by Vivaldi's beloved "Four Seasons," featuring past members of our Protégé Project, Portland native Rebecca Anderson and the Amphion String Quartet.

The Seasons, Part III

Sunday, January 26
PSU, Lincoln Performance Hall, 4:30 pm

Making her CMNW debut is Oregon Symphony concertmaster Sarah Kwak in a suite of tangos by Piazzolla and Copland's Appalachian Spring. A new piece by Portland composer David Schiff draws inspiration from Debussy, Richard Rodgers and George Gershwin.

Note: We regret to announce that David Shifrin will unable to perform on this concert as originally planned, as he will be recovering from rotator cuff surgery. In his place, OSO principal clarinetist Yoshinori Nakao will perform on the Schiff and Copland. We wish David a speedy recovery!
