Welcome to the 39th summer festival of Chamber Music Northwest.
We invite you to share the beauty and power of great chamber music and the thrill of brilliant, committed performances. This summer we celebrate the 200th anniversaries of two monumental composers: Felix Mendelssohn (born in 1809) and Joseph Haydn (died in 1809). You will find much to savor this summer, as classic masterpieces and wonderful modern works are brought to life by some of the most sought-after artists in the world!

You can also check out performances from past seasons on our page at Instant Encore.
Downtown Fridays at 7 pm Series sponsored by
We are pleased to present our five Friday concerts in downtown Portland this summer, at an earlier starting time, to bring Chamber Music Northwest to the center of things! Audiences can enjoy three fine locations for great chamber music, in addition to our traditional summer residences at Reed College and Catlin Gabel School.
Seating will be general admission by section, not reserved seats. We’re offering the best seats in the house (our usual Box Seats) at our “Section A” price, as a bonus! Section B tickets also offer a similar seating upgrade over the Reed and Catlin Gabel ticket prices.
In place of pre-concert picnics, you can catch a quick bite at the many fine restaurants right in the neighborhood. Or have dinner after the concert gets out, around 9 pm. There will be refreshments available onsite, before the concert and during intermission.
Subscribe to all five and enjoy further discounts, or try out one or two this summer!
Portland Summer Ensembles
This new collaboration is a chamber music workshop for young musicians, held during the third week of the summer festival (July 13-17). We'll announce workshops, the final student recital and other informative events as they near.
